Tip4 : The Feng Shui of Good Fortune Fruit for Fertility
Symbols of good fortune fruit for fertility manifest the positive aspects of descendants' Chi within your living space. In this issue, you will discover how you can use these auspicious fruits to decorate your home and embellish the wonderful energy of descendants' luck. These good fortune fruits may be displayed lavishly, in fruit bowls or as images in paintings or even as carvings. The best part about good fortune fruits is that these are Feng Shui symbols that you can eat.
Pomegranate
The pomegranate is a wonderfully auspicious fruit. An average fruit is slightly bigger than a baseball, it comes in various Yang shades ranging from yellows to reds. When opened up, it reveals plenty of sweet, fleshy seeds. This symbolizes the luck of many offspring, which is why the pomegranate fruit is regarded as a symbol of fertility. It is said to create the kind of descendants' luck that gives you many sons, all filial and respectable, with a successful future ahead of them.
The auspicious pomegranate also symbolizes a happy family that is blessed with good and filial children who will each grow up to bring honor and glory to the family. When a mother eats a pomegranate fruit during the New Year, it is said that she can expect to give birth to sons during the course of the year.
Many Chinese parents advise their young newly-wed second generation to display a painting or a carving of a pomegranate in their bedroom to create the luck of having many healthy children.
Lichee
A Chinese riddle goes like this, "Red cloth wrapped around white cloth, white cloth wrapped around a black globe. What is it?" The answer: the lichee.
The lichee is a deliciously juicy fruit with bright red skin. Similar to a large strawberry in shape and size, the red skin peels away easily to reveal opaque white flesh. A single black seed lies within.
When the lichee is drawn with the longan, it is reputed to signify a marriage union that is blessed with clever descendants. Young married women are encouraged to eat the lichee fruit to create this kind of luck for themselves. Paintings of auspicious fruits should always include the lichee.
Longan
Slightly smaller than a lichee, the longan is a rounded fruit with an olive brown shell. Delightfully thirst-quenching, its opaque flesh is sweet and juicy. The longan also has a single black seed. The Chinese (Cantonese) characters for longan can be literally translated to mean dragon's eyes.
When depicted with the lichee, the longan is reputed to signify a successful and fruitful union that is blessed with many bright children. For this reason, young married women are advised to eat the longan fruit to enhance their own fertility luck.
Lotus Seeds (Lin Chee)
Similar in size and appearance to large peanuts, the lotus seed signifies auspicious offspring luck. It is always featured in the dishes of a Chinese wedding dinner, especially in the dessert or sweetmeats.
Lin Chee or the seed of the lotus is an excellent symbol of descendants' luck. Consuming and displaying lotus seeds in the home is said to enhance and speed up the arrival of grandchildren.
Water Chestnuts
Approximately the size of a ping-pong ball, water chestnuts have a thin black skin. The water chestnut is a rounded flattish bulb rather than a fruit. Its sweet white flesh is firm to the touch and crisp to the bite. According to Feng Shui principles, it is auspicious to hang a painting of good fortune fruits in the dining room. So when water chestnuts are displayed together with the lichee, they denote clever children in the family.
Make liberal use of all these good fortune fruits to energize the Chi of good descendants' luck. You will soon discover the potency of the Feng Shui of good fortune fruit for fertility. The most enjoyable part is, of course, eating your tasty Feng Shui symbols. Have fun with your edible Feng Shui for fertility!
