The Chinese Zodiac wheel has 12 animals in their order of appearance in the Chinese calendar, starting with the rat and followed by the ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and boar.

These animal signs are further divided into four major groups (of three animals each) of amiability. People born under these signs are believed to have similar personalities and outlooks in life.
