Why is a bed under a window considered bad feng shui?
At nighttime your body needs strong support, as well as protection, in order to do its best with the work of regenerating itself. This is the reason a good solid headboard is highly recommended in feng shui. In addition to a good headboard, you always want to have a solid wall behind your bed. When you sleep under the window, your personal energy tends to get weaker in time, as it has neither proper support, not protection.

What exactly do you mean by "a bed under the window"?
A bed under the window means a bed in which your head is right under the window (when you are laying in bed/sleeping.)

How can I remedy the feng shui effect of a bed under the window?
The very first thing to do is to see if you can find a different location for your bed. Go the extra mile and think creatively. If moving your bed is out of the question, there are two feng shui steps for you:

1. You absolutely must - and I rarely use the word must! - have a strong and solid headboard. This is a non-negotiable good feng shui step, if you have to sleep under a window.
2. You need good window coverings, including heavy draperies/curtains, that you would close at night to create a feeling of a solid wall behind you.

However, please be aware that even if you do your best implementing these steps, the feng shui of your bedroom (and your own personal energy) will still be weaker than if you had a good feng shui positioning for your bed.

Best advice: implement these feng shui steps in order to protect your health and well-being, but also see how can you change you circumstances for better in the future. Look for a bedroom where you can have your bed in the best feng shui location - you know you deserve it!
